BI Engineer

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop, integrate and maintain enterprise level data warehouse
    • Work with cross functional teams to define and locate data needed to answer business needs
    • Ensure data integrity and reliability
    • Maintain and enforce security for sensitive data
    • Optimize data architecture and performance
  • Create and maintain custom ETL pipelines from multiple sources
    • Use first or third party solutions to sync data to keep up to date with business needs
    • Manage and monitor error logging to make sure data is accurate and up to date
  • Work with different teams to define KPIs and deliver consistent and accurate data
    • Using Looker to develop data visualizations and schedule reports
    • Ad-Hoc reporting directly from data warehouse
    • Export data and assist with dashboard creation (Excel/Google Sheets)
  • Control access management to data sources
  • Participate in vendor assessments for new data warehouse, ETL and ERP technologies
  • Work to create tools and methods to support advanced analytics and product recommendations
    • Identify how data can be used to drive automation and efficiency
The Experience:
  • 6+ Experience working with multiple teams and disparate data sources
  • Ability to determine which teams need help and desire to word directly with end-users to develop necessary solutions
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Expert fluency in SQL
    • Cloud DW - BigQuery (or Snowflake or Redshift)
    • Experience with transformation experience with DBT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSslJG5DHGI
    • Strong reporting experience with Looker (other BI platforms okay)
  • Experience working in Agile development
